  13. The mach64 device drivers supplied here are for Windows 3.1 and 
  14. Windows 3.11.  This ZIP file contains both the Windows 3.1X 
  15. display drivers and software MPEG player designed for the 
  16. mach64-based graphics accelerator products.

  20. 2.0    Installation Notes
  21.  
  22. IF YOU HAVE NOT INSTALLED A mach64 WINDOWS DRIVER PREVIOUSLY, YOU MAY 
  23. REQUIRE YOUR MICROSOFT WINDOWS DISKETTES TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION 
  24. OF THIS DRIVER.  
  25.  
  26. 1. Ensure that you have a copy LOAD64.ZIP.  It is available on the ATI 
  27. BBS, ftp site (ftp.atitech.ca), and on our CompuServe forum (GO 
  28. ATITECH).
  29.  
  30. 2. Ensure that you have a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE, v1.10 or later.  
  31. PKUNZIP is available on most BBS and information services, including 
  32. the ATI BBS and CompuServe.
  33.  
  34. 3. Do NOT attempt to perform the driver installation from within 
  35. Windows Exit Windows completely, and perform the following operations 
  36. in DOS.
  37.  
  38. 4. Unzip LOAD64.ZIP and 64M31201.ZIP into the same temporary directory 
  39. on your hard disk, then run the LOAD64.EXE utility.  For example:
  40.  
  41. MD \ATITEMP
  42. PKUNZIP LOAD64.ZIP \ATITEMP
  43. PKUNZIP 64M31201.ZIP \ATITEMP
  44. CD \ATITEMP
  45. LOAD64.EXE
  46.  
  47. 5. Follow the screen prompts for installing the Windows3.1 driver.  
  48.  
  49. IF YOU RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE, INDICATING THAT A CERTAIN FONT (.fon) 
  50. FILE IS NOT PRESENT, YOU WILL NEED TO RUN WINDOWS SETUP FROM DOS TO 
  51. COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION.  WINDOWS SETUP WILL PROMPT YOU FOR THE 
  52. DISKS ON WHICH THESE FONT FILES ARE FOUND.
  53.  
  54. 6. Once the driver has been installed, you can delete the contents of 
  55. the temporary directory (DEL \ATITEMP\*.*) and delete the directory 
  56. itself (RD \ATITEMP).  
  57.  
  58. 7. We recommend that you keep a copy of the ZIP files (64M31201.ZIP 
  59. and LOAD64.ZIP), in case you need to install the driver again.

  63. 3.0    Software MPEG Player requirements
  64.  
  65. While this application will run on most systems, ATI recommends a 
  66. minimum of a P5-75 with 8MB of RAM and PCI-bus for good quality 
  67. playback of MPEG videos.
  68.  
  69. This product requires a mach64 PCI or VLB graphics accelerator. ISA 
  70. cards and VLB cards with the aperture disabled are not recommended for 
  71. MPEG playback.
  72.  
  73. NOTE: Microsoft's Video for Windows 1.1E is required.
  74.

  76. located in the ATI\ATIDESK sub-directory.
